Villamas enhances the Seri Kembangan skyline with meta_city

Villamas enhances the Seri Kembangan skyline with meta_city

By Gunaprasath Bupalan (Emjay Communications / The Malaysian Global Busines Forum / News Hub Asia / iHaus / Property360Digest)

Located near the northern end of the PLUS Expressway Southern Route, Seri Kembangan needs little introduction to property enthusiasts. History would tell us that Seri Kembangan was established as the Serdang New Village in 1950 when the British moved Malaysian Chinese villagers living around Sungai Besi to a centralised location due to the Communist threat during the Malayan Emergency as part of the Briggs Plan.

In its early days, the village had 50 houses and all were built from scratch because the British only provided empty plots of land. The area was close to rubber estates and the jungle posed dangers of a different kind. Most of the 15,000 inhabitants earned meagre incomes as mining workers and rubber tappers.

Today, there are more than 2,500 houses with only a smattering of the original wooden houses left and the population is estimated to be 150,000, largely made up of entrepreneurs, businessmen, professionals, government servants who are working in Putrajaya as well as employees of multinational corporations that are located in Cyberjaya.

From the early 2000s onwards, Seri Kembangan began to be known as a business hub with the inclusion of AEON Equine Park, McDonald’s, Pasar Borong Selangor (wholesale market), Maybank, Giant Hypermarket and other businesses.

Now, almost 20 years later, we see the Seri Kembangan skyline has invited the likes of many new high-rise developments overlooking new low-rise housing enclaves, making the area a sort after township to live, work and entertain at – away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet not too far away from civilisation.

Owning a substantial size of prime land at Seri Kembangan, Villamas Group – the developer that successfully introduced The Andes, Zefer Hill Residences, Serin Residency and Atmosfera Condominium is now ready to unveil its next project at this site.

Meta_city, an address soon to be bespoke, is a RM1.8 billion development by Villamas Group that boasts an integrated TOD (Transit Oriented Development) that is totally inclusive, modern and luxurious yet made affordable.

Current view of site, which will be developed just 200 meters walking distance from the upcoming MRT station.

Promising a city away from the city living by seamlessly blending an innovative, design-driven and practical development that comprises serviced apartments, branded suits, an iconic tower, shopping mall and international hotel, meta_city is poised to transform the landscape of Seri Kembangan as a transit –oriented development aiming to inspire, infuse and create an extraordinary lifestyle for cosmopolitan dwellers wanting to live and work in the suburbs.

“Our main priority is to contribute in a positive way and elevate the status of Seri Kembangan with meta_city. Therefore, we want to create a life, stay, chill, work concept here, one that is hassle-free and productive”, pointed out Gan Teck Seong, Villamas Group CEO during the media familiarisation tour that was held on 25 April 2019 at the show gallery in Seri Kembangan, close to the actual development site.

Once developed, meta_city will comprise of the following components:

META_mall

Set to be a unique lifestyle concept mall with a wide variety of retailers catering for an informed neighbourhood that is young, electrifying, energetic and hip. Meta_city has been well planned around as it is easily linked to international schools and colleges as well as businesses. With easy links to major highways like LDP, Putrajaya-KLIA, MEX and SILK highway and excellent connectivity with an MRT station right at its doorstep with a proposed link bridge straight to meta_city, connectivity is a major plus point to its residents. There are even plans that are underway for a dedicated U-turn interchange flyover in both directions to ease traffic congestion and create easy access to meta_city.

According to the developer, Tower A, which will be the first to be made available to the public for registration will begin selling from RM280,000 and it is targeted towards single adults and your married couples who would like to buy into a stake of meta_city and begin their life is exclusive lifestyle living.

Smartly laid out, units at META_residence is developed to enhance space.

The entire meta_city project is targeted for completion in 10 years, while Phase 1, which is the Tower A and Tower B (Tower B is not open for registration yet), is to be completed in the next four years.

We look forward to a more in-depth look into this development and more on the developer soon.
